This project seems interesting. The input from storm2k posters would probably improve results, imo.

Senorpepr, thanks for your input on this. I hope many of our members will help with this project. We have quite a few who are very good at analysis.This site was recently covered in the May/June 2013 issue of Weatherwise Magazine. Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites, Univ. of North Carolina at Asheville, Zooniverse, and NCDC have teamed up for this site. It's legit and I think Storm2k is the perfect site to connect experienced amateurs in helping determine tropical cyclone intensity for past storms to help with HURDAT.
