Well, if this is a front, then I am Jimminy Cricket! DP 77F Temp 88F at 11am. Not a drop of rain for as week, even with a front stalling overhead. Just sunny, muggy and dry. Very dry. :double:

Today is day #12 of not a drop of rain. ZERO. In fact, skycover has been 90% sunshine. Showers neared the coast around 9am, died, then 2 hours later big storms fired up 10-15 miles inland, as usual. I guess this is the rainy season that is NOT. I am watering the yard constantly now. HOT 90'sF, lots of sun. Easily one of the driest June's I have seen! :double:

Don't worry, that tropical wave near Hispaniola should give you good rains by Saturday

It has rained! A small storm developed right over my yard. Poured for about 20 mins, total just shy of an inch. BOUT TIME! Has remained overcast all day so the high will not top 90F today for the first time since Andrea came through. I can hear the plants chirping now. More rains? Indeed! :P

Goodness gracious what a storm we had earlier today and it's little sister just blew by a little while ago. 2" of rain early this afternoon in a little over 20 mins. Just got another 3/10.

Fantastic for my yard but not so much for my garage sale - shut us down shortly after noon today. Scheduled tomorrow too from 8am - 2pm. Will see.

Over 12" of rain so far this month at my house in the convergence zone of eastern central FL, what a wet season so far for the Orlando area, we cannot complain, most lakes are up to near normal level now.
Yesterday we had yet another torrential thunderstorm over 2" of rain in less than an hour.

Yeah, NDG that is how it was around here for much of May. I ended up with just below 14 inches for the month of May.

So far , I have measured a total of just over 6 inches of rain for this month, with much of that coming from T.S. Andrea. The second half of this month as turned up somewhat drier here than when it began for sure. But, overall, it has been a very wet period here since mid-April.

More typical scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast this weekend here, but our friends down in the extreme southern peninsula could see some significant rain down there as a weak tropical wave will move across that region.

NEVER, EVER SAY NEVER in the tropics and weather in general, and most importantly, with life itself!!

A convectively skimpy weather pattern along the west coast in recent days has allowed for explosive warming of the near shore water temps. we're in the upper 80's now. finally storms should now begin to converge on the west coast as a typical southesterly flow establishes itself. that should allow the gulf coast to cash in with good rainfall ops the next week or so.

Total for Friday was an inch of much needed rains! It has been thundering for hours but the sun is out. Dark inland. Anyone catch the tail end of that front is now spinning in the GOM? It appears to be concentrating inwards. Just sayin.......... :double:

seabreeze is well positioned for good thunderstorm development from the sarasota-bradenton area near term, and then zippering north through the bay area to western pasco/hernando/citrus counties later on. beach bums and mariners be alert...unlike much of the past week the storms are coming toward the coast.

...and yes, indeed, they made the coast. The collision happened around 5pm when it began raining and thundering, and luckily, I missed the nastiest storms. Just a nice 45 mins of rain, occasionally heavy, mostly moderate. I would guess at 6/10", which is nice. The plants will look so nice tomorrow morning. :P

Pattern continues to be conducive for thunderstorm formation each and every afternoon for the west coast of Florida with a strong Bermuda High setup and seabreeze collisions each day.

look for the seabreeze collision to rip north from Ft Myers up the west coast this evening. vigorous thunderstorm development is likely much like last night about 10-15 miles inland with storms moving westward toward the beaches. mariners and beach goers...keep an eye to the sky.

Two days...four funnel clouds. Two of which became tornadoes/waterspouts:

So far all storms to my south, including that tornado. Lightning constantly lights up the sky from afar. Last nights storm drenched us. Tonight appears dry. It actually is a good thing, as a break is nice. Too much rain at once is not good! Pattern switch by the weekend. :P

Indeed the pattern does switch by the weekend and in fact starts to transition tomorrow as steering flow for thunderstorms becomes more SW to NE by the weekend which means possible late nights and morning showers along the west coast of Florida with stronger storms shifting inland and towards the east coast by the afternoon and evening hours.

There should be an ample supply of moisture that gets pulled in from the Caribbean plus alot of heating with seabreeze collision this weekend so expect some big storms to develop especially for the eastern half of the peninsula.

As humid and stormy as it has been, all have missed me, once again, since Monday's storm. Not that I am complaining but JEEZ.......yesterday it thundered for about 4 hours, some loud enough to sprak the dogs to bark and the cat to come in. Nada. Not a drop. Same the day before. The mornings have not been bad (Florida wise) with 74/75F at 6am. But, a little rain would be nice - considering the way I see other parts of Florida getting drenched. I know, just wait...well, this year I am in the "hole"! lol

Other than a drop or two....nada. zero. Stormed for hours. Died as they came ashore reformed inland. Same today as the radar is lit up in the GOM. I have hope that one will come ashore. No rain since Mon AM. We are due. Chances the next few days are really good, so I am hopeful. But, then, we tend to get too much at once!
