Let the Hurricane Hype Begin!

#1 Postby rainydaze » Mon Sep 08, 2003 10:22 pm

Well, not quite yet.

I thought this would be a great thread for
us to start reporting what our local weathermen are saying.
It'll be interesting in the days ahead to see who starts hyping
and who stays conservative.

I'll start by saying today (Sept 8) our guys in WPB were
not giving any hype. They basically are showing where the
5 day models take it (around Islands/PR) and saying if it is here
in 5 days, then we'll talk!

I think it a very good idea for them to wait at least 4 or 5 days before starting any hype regarding Isabel. No need to panic the public about something that is so far away and may not even affect your area.

Houston reporting.........

Frank Billingsley said in a few days it will be going out to sea.

On the other hand........

Neil Frank said that she could possibly get into the Gulf of Mexico after brushing or hitting Florida so we need to keep an eye on her.

Was Billingsley adamant about it going out to sea? If so, way too soon to make a statement like that.
