ummm..NOT! Yes, it rained again. Looked promising for a dry day, then around 7pm Boom Booms and a 5 minute downpour. Not too bad I guess. Next week is looking wet yet again..Tue/Wed/Thur with an upper level low. I am selling at USF (I raise tropicals in my spare time) and the outdoor sale is Sat and Sun. Hoping for drier weather then. :spam:

BIG storms blew through once again, but this time it rained hard and for quite some time. Both gauges measured 1.3". Missed the severe weather, which is good. The past 5 days it rained daily, but mostly just a little with the biggest rains missing us. Lots of thunder this year. Last year not so much. It made for a pleasant morning. :P

There seems to be a potent trough/wave east of SFL and is going to keep us wet throughout the week apparently. We've had alot of rains down here recently. Up to 14 inches in some areas.

Yesterday broke our streak of 18 consecutive days with rain. While not all of it was heavy, some days were. Easily well over a foot in that time. Today- big storm blew through an hour ago...another inch. Oh well, it was a nice, dry day on Monday! This moisture is something else. :P

From their fb page:

"US National Weather Service Miami Florida

It was a "cold" and wet day across South Florida on Wednesday. Three Daily RECORD Low Maximums (coldest high temperature for the day) were set today.

The high today at Miami International Airport only reached 78 degrees. This smashes the previous record coldest high temperature of 84 degrees for the date, set way back in 1926.

The high today at Fort Lauderdale International Airport only reached 80 degrees. This crushes the previous record coldest high temperature of 86 degrees for the date, set back in 1990.

The high today at West Palm Beach International Airport reached 84 degrees. This breaks the previous record coldest high temperature of 85 degrees for the date, set back in 1975."

Finally, we have had a chance to dry out a bit here in Northeast Florida. No rain at my locale since Monday. The rain and heavy storms have been focused down in South Florida this week as the ULL traversed west- northwest across the peninsula.

Rain chances go back up again during the weekend as the flow is forecast to be more southerly and the return of moisture from the GOM will overspread the region.

It still rains daily. While yesterday was only 4/10", today it rained all morning, lightly, then a huge storm hit around 3pm, with another an hour later. Two more inches of rain pushing the month's total to over 16" now. I swear moss is growing on algae. The sun is a stranger. They promise drier air by Monday. I hope so. Remember when I was whining about needng some rainfall (that was missing me) well...I'll shut up now! :grrr:

This is a tidbit from Miami WD on 7/22
The base of the trough will sit over northern Florida and
should help to keep a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the
forecast through the week, especially for the interior portions of
the state

Doesn't that mean the storms will form on the sea breeze and move east. Towards the coast :?:

Yes, and it is happening. The radar is lit up from central interior east. We have finally dried out here along the west coast. No rain Sun or Mon! It has just come down in buckets this month. However, the pattern also means hot nights. Yuck! :x

Got a good dousing of rain at my locale earlier this afternoon. Just under 1.25 inches measured. Typical summer pattern will continue much of this week with the daily scattered afternoon and early evening thunderstorms occuring across the region.

It's been so wet here, the ground is mush in alot of areas. A couple cars got stuck in the mud here, my stepsister's husband got mud caked into his tires on Saturday...he did dig a hole about a foot deep into the earth with his right front tire though.

It absolutely poured here. After a few hours of light rain this AM, around 3pm the skies opened as a cluster of storms came ashore. Over 3 inches of MORE RAIN fell today after two dry days. The forecast for Wed....more rain. Talk about a rainy season! :P

It rained once again, but several heavy showers were quick. Then the sun came out! It looks like it could be drier the next few days - time to clean up after all the rains. Over 19" for July and counting, daily rains. Since the storm is fading, perhaps we may get back to "normal" which is late showers and storms, hit or miss. :sun:

Finished the month of July with a total of just over 11.50 inches at my locale, the third consecutive month in which at least 10 inches + as fell here. Amazing the rain we are getting this year. Since May 1, just over 3 feet of rain has been measured at my locale. I saw a report that the Jax NWS office is running nearly 7 inches above normal for the year to date. We need drying out in the worst way right now.
