Isabel Super Rapid-Scan GOES High-Res Imagery

#1 Postby wxman57 » Tue Sep 09, 2003 6:01 pm

Check it out, 1 minute high-res imagery of Isabel. I won't try this at home on my old PC or I'd have to reboot:

Well, I couldn't resist. I wouldn't recommend trying it without at least 256MB of RAM and preferably 512MB. My old hard drive (only 128mb RAM on a P2-266) churned for a full 5 minutes loading the javascript then it took another 5 minutes to stop churning after I closed my web browser. My free hard drive space dropped by 200+ MB before I rebooted.

Those are some amazing frames. I agree-wouldn't try to load them without broadband and lots of memory. Do you know if they will add newer versions from time to time?

Thanks again, Lynn

These are lovely..thanks for sharing!

I am drooling with the wait to see if maybe you could come up with some of the beautiful nice blowups with this one like you did Fabian. I know it's asking alot but those rocked and even had it on my desktop...till I got this most adorable photo of my 2 little girls sharing a sisterly peck next to a pond..about the only thing that would replace that awsome pic of yours *winks and begs sweetly*

So glad I got 1 Gig of ram and 120 Gig hard drive in my new system. Only took about a minute to download on cable, ya gotta love it. Nice loop also.
