So if your rating is green, does that mean they won't do a strip search?

Racial Profiling has now reared it's head in the Airline Industry. So, I am part Indian and that means I will be tagged yellow? But, they do not have to worry about me, I do not fly, not commercial anyway.

Good one Duck. It crossed my mind this afternoon.

How will it be determined how to use this color code for each one of us? :?

It will be simple Tom. They will tag any foreigner they choose. If you do not look like you are from another country then you will get the green tag. It is plain and simple.

I mean, what does a terrorist really look like? It is obvious the United States did not know before Sept. 11th while they were training in our flight schools.

This system will not work either.

Here is a snippet of how they say the system is intended to work and link to complete article

Under the new program, the airline will send information about everyone who books a flight to the TSA, including full name, home address, home telephone number, date of birth and travel itinerary. If the computer system identifies a threat, the TSA will notify federal or local law enforcement authorities. The agency has not indicated the number or type of personnel needed to oversee the program.

The TSA will check each passenger in two steps. The first will match the passenger's name and information against databases of private companies that collect information on people for commercial reasons, such as their shopping habits. This process will generate a numerical score that will indicate the likelihood that the passenger is who he says he is. Passengers will not be informed of their color code or their numerical score. The second step matches passenger information against government intelligence combined with local and state outstanding warrants for violent felonies.

I heard how the system is intended to work, but there are citizens of this great nation that may do something after they get through with the green tag.

There's just something about that plan that unnerves me....checking my shopping habits???

Of course, they frisked my then seven year old niece at Portland International last November and asked my sis and her hubby all sorts of invasive personal questions...so nothing they come up with surprises me.

We now must remove our shoes because of a shoebomber....if some fanatical kook figures out how to make plastic explosive pants, we'll all be standing in the airport security line in our undershorts -- and folks wonder why I no longer intend to fly (it would have to be a life-or-death emergency).

A friend of mine went through the "security checkpoint" at the New Orleans airport. She just knew she was going to have to take off her shoes. Two men that looked to be from Indonesia were told to remove their shoes and one of them had to go to a little room for some reason. When she got there she was motioned right through. Same thing happened in Dallas on her flight back home.
