is this it?? that looks very close to Mindanao.. or maybe just a part of a bigger system spreading across the Pacific from the P.I. to Guam

That's not the area that the models are developing. The GFS develops something that originates near 10N140E, not near Mindanao. I can definitely see increasing convection and rotation way out east of 95W.
