You got that right Sanibel. You don't need models, sat. or radar to know when it's got that feel. Although, they help.

I heard the indians were good at it but they had some serious skin in the game, but less to lose at the same time I guess...

I know what you mean, here too Sanibel - looking very tropical. Just had a strong, windy shower move through very quickly.

If the convection can persist and deepen overnight it might have a go at developing something at the surface tomorrow. But it really needs to fire convection to release the heat and form a low.

There's definitely an anticyclone building over top of the convection in the eastern GOM.

Is hard to have this thunderstorm in the NE GOM to have gotten declared as an Invest when not even the aggressive GFS has shown development before it moves inland in a couple fo days :cheesy:

Unusually strong thunderstorm came through the Tampa bay area this afternoon.
The rain wasn't any harder than the usual summer showers but the lightning activity was real intense.
Keep checking the buoy reports too see if surface pressures are dropping.

Nimbus, do you have a link to check those surface pressures on the buoys? Thanks in advance.

There is a possible mid level spin south of Mobile checking satelitte imagery. If convection can persist throughout today, this may have a chance to make it to the surface and develop into a TD or weak TS in a day or two before coming ashore over the TX or SW LA coast.

No, Levi Cowan of Tropical Tidbits. He's an amateur, and makes a great presentation. ;)
