Re: Northern Gulf (10%/10%)
Been silently watching this all afternoon hoping just maybe the gulf might be able to produce something. But nope the season or lack thereof continues. POOF it goes.

Re: Northern Gulf (10%/10%)
Frankly it looks to me like the MLC stalled out this afternoon and is now drifting northward. That's unfortunate because it doesn't look like this system as a whole is moving westward anymore, i.e. the moisture may not make it much further west. But that large disturbance over the Yucatan is moving northwestward and looks like it could provide a lot of moisture for Texas in a couple of days anyway. Regardless, this system doesn't look viable anymore...

Man....ya gotta love it! This is what it's all about! Standing on the beach, with a stiff breez, and those ominous, fast moving low clouds. Life is good! I don't need a computer or a TV to know something is going on in the gulf. All I gotta do is go out on the beach and look up in the sky! I love a tropical weather sunset!

A lot of us here know exactly what you mean and wish we were there. Enjoy it.

A little off topic but I see that since I talked about the other system over the Yucatan at the top of this page the NHC has put it up as an area of interest on their outlook page. Let's hope Texas gets some moisture out of this.

Only problem is there is actually nothing going on at all besides some light showers. But you are right about the part being on the beach with a nice breeze.

Just curious...Are both disturbances headed for Texas? Also, looks like both disturbances are about to merge! Is that Possible? This might be our one and only chance for some beneficial rains here in Texas.

Not both. The southern one over the Yucatan could be IMHO. Keep your fingers crossed. And I wouldn't say it's your last chance. There's plenty of time left and the season may start producing a lot of disturbances out there yet.

The one over the Yucatan shouldn't strengthen too much, correct?

I'm thinking no development but maybe some rain for Texas.

A thunderstorm was passing by. Gusts 35-40 kts. Obs all over the NW Gulf - no evidence at all of any surface circulation. And the mid-level circulation has died out. Zero chance of development. Well, maybe 0.9%.

0.9% chance is better than nothing.....

Just finished mowing my lawn and noticed that the breeze has definitely picked up and the clouds are moving rather quickly from NE to SW. It has the "look" and the "feel" of something brewing.
