Unless this high pushes all this activity further south in the Gulf (pro met Jeff spoke about this at KHOU), who knows what might happen ( my words)

I was thinking the same thing! I kept looking up at the clouds today and they are moving quite fast! Also noticed that circulation south of Lake Charles. Im wondering if its trying to do something one last time! It would be awesome if it became a depression all the sudden and dumped a good 5"-8" on us here in SETX! lol....wishful thinking. Im not going to hold my breath! lol

I think we've finally got a weak "close to the surface" low just off/Southeast of CRP. Radar clearly showing the mid-level rotation and multiple buoy and land data sites are indicating W/WNW winds along the Texas coast (CRP/South Padre) and offshore of that area. If it had more time over water, who knows, but in my untrained eye, sure showing signs of a surface reflection now...even though it is still an inverted trough. Satellite loops also showing llvl circulation and my guess is that it's S/SEast of GLS and E of CRP maybe 75 miles offshore.

looks rather tropical in downtown houston this morning... still no rain here. Starting to wonder if the rain will even make it this far inland. On radar, it look like whatever rain has developed is dissipating as soon as it gets to a particular distance, inland.

The morning surface analysis from NHC (below) outlined a wavy, east-west surface trough extending from Corpus over into the western Atlantic. The precip is associated with this trough. Hopefully we can get the thing to back westward into Texas! Lots of rain on that radar just off the coast, that's for sure!
