You know things are slow when this happens...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Posted the image in the thread for the actual TW. Thought the percentage of development for the next 48hrs. seemed to be quite right knowing how little convection there is in the circled area. :roflmao:

YOU KNOW THINGS ARE SLOW.....

WHEN....Sept. 1st, NCAR challanges NOAA & the Air Force to a contest to see which agency can each sell their 500 commissioned dropsonds on EBAY the fastest!

WHEN.....The Weather Channel's Steve Lyons is suddenly reporting live from the Cape Verde Islands to broadcast "live Pouch conditions".

WHEN....A dartboard has been rumored to have been thrown at Punxsutawney Phil by Joe Bastardi

WHEN.....Breaking news from WikiLeaks exposes that all previously tracked Tropical Waves tracked during the 2013 Atlantic season were actually a CIA cover up hoax to fool those who were anticipating there would be a 2013 Hurricane Season

WHEN..... Thousands of Floridians all flood their local grocery stores during Labor Day weekend,
and exchange their prior purchased cases of water for cases of Corona beer

WHEN......State Farm refunds tens of thousands of Property owners along the Gulf Coast and U.S. Eastern Seaboard for "overpaid Homeowners Insurance"

Continued......

YOUR KNOW THINGS ARE SLOW......

WHEN..... All U.S. Coastal Law Enforcement departments announce the suspension of "Guns for Cash" citizen exchange programs, and begin voluntary Generators and Chain Saws for Cash exchanges

WHEN..... Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac suddenly both start offering 100% Mortgage loans for all new home purchases located on any coastal plain, barrier island, and waterfront properties

WHEN..... All heads of FEMA and State & County Emergency Management departments suddenly decide to take a September 10 Trans Atlantic cruise together

WHEN..... The Weather Channel decides to replace its hourly Hurricane Update with excerpts from this weeks cable T.V. "Ducks Dynasty" show

WHEN......Hundreds of Southeastern U.S. coastal area "preppers" are being spotted selling all of their hurricane supplies, canned foods, & tools at local Flea Markets and Garage Sales

and finally, :double: YOU REALLY REALLY KNOW WHEN THINGS ARE SLOW -

WHEN.....the NWS San Juan, P.R. office September 1 Area Forecast Discussion makes no reference to ANY tracked tropical systems or Easterly Waves, & instead jokingly references how recent dry conditions have caused numerous Island Chupacabra sightings, thus causing hoards of catatonic U.S. Storm & Hurricane Chasers to suddenly descend on the island just to have something to finally chase!!
