NDG wrote:I think the 12z best track is based off of the mid level vorticity seen on IR satellite but SJ radar and visible satellite loop tells me that it is a little further south and west, more like 15.7N & 65.2W, IMO.
Not bad, I was only off by 1/10th of a degree

Glad they updated the 12z best track after seen what I was also seeing on visible sat loop & radar.

Convection moving in towards the estimated LLC.
A good sign of strengthening.

Looks like it may get an extra boost of ventilation from the ULL at 26N 59W.

Scrolling thru the 3 hr images, it appears to be moving north away from 97L.

Is the yellow center dot on that loop the estimated LLC?

IMPORTANT!
I see once again that people here are NOT following instructions/rules about how to post links. Don't be surprised if/when things heat up around here if your posts disappear. We mods have asked and asked and asked kindly and yet the practice continues.
It's not hard to do and it is a courtesy to your fellow Storm2Kers to post images that way. Considered yourself warned.

Any forecasts under my name are to be taken with a grain of salt. Get your best forecasts from the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center.

Pretty good but if you look at that line of clouds just on its north side it tells you it is still interacting with the synoptic boundary to its north. I wonder what the islands are going to do to this.
Those tops look like the season's latent heat is finally breaking through.

If your mouse has a wheel, use it to click the links. If the mouse has no wheel, in Chrome, if you right-click a link, a context menu will pop up. In that menu, click Open link in new tab. According to a post in this thread, it's also possible to have all browsers open links in new tabs by default. (I posted this info here instead of in a PM because it may help others in the same situation.)baytownwx wrote:I love reading this forum and learning as much as I can. With that said, for those that post links please use the URL tab and then copy the link in-between. This allows a new window to open. I don't know how many times tonight I have clicked on a link only to accidentally close out of my storm2k session. Thank you and keep up the great discussions!

I am looking at high resolution loop from http://wwwghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/post-goes and there is no indication or evidence of a LLC, I would also say it is under some southerly shear that is now hampering development. I just don't see this developing much more until it gets out of this area.

You link will not work with that page.
Visible: http://wwwghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/get-goes?satellite=GOES-E%20CONUS&lat=14&lon=-63&info=vis&zoom=1&width=1000&height=800&quality=95&type=Animation&palette=ir1.pal&numframes=9
I see what appears to be an LLC under that convection.

It's nearly under an anti-cyclone, but it may be moving northwest into a more unfavorable environment.

Stay safe Luis (cycloneye) and all in the Caribbean islands!
