It doesn't matter as it will be the first hurricane to track no matter where it goes.

I know. :P Just wanted to say that it's a fish. :P

People do live on the Cape and islands... Just because it won't effect the USA or Caribbean islands doesn't mean it's a fish.

I'm no expert, everything I say should be taken with a large amount of salt. I could easily be very, very wrong.

Doesn't have to be thursday. It can be by 8am on wednesday. The forecast track shows it becoming a hurricane after but it's close.

I was thinking 8PM for some reason.

That's what the Poll should be. Will it or won't it?

NHC goes slow on intensity despite what LGEM / SHIP models say.

SOME OF THE MODELS...MAINLY THE
STATISTICAL-DYNAMICAL GUIDANCE...ARE FAIRLY AGGRESSIVE WITH THE
INTENSIFICATION RATE AFTER 24 HOURS. SHIPS AND LGEM HAVE TENDED TO
HAVE A HIGH BIAS THIS HURRICANE SEASON...SO THE OFFICIAL FORECAST
IS KEPT A BIT LOWER.

I think mother nature has other plans, lol... Forecast is for H1 by Wednesday. And it looks very reasonable. Will be funny if we miss by a day...

I was just thinking about this...could this become a Category 2 or 3?

Not too likely. SSTs will be marginal after it turns NW. But you never know - if it goes just a little west of the forecast track it's more possible.

I am not disagreeing with the NHC, but they were talking about northeasterly shear impinging on the depression. I myself saw the slightly exposed centre earlier today, but by the current look of it, it seems as though the centre is under the convection. Has the shear relaxed?

:uarrow: Shear doesn't look too bad at the current moment.
