NHC 11 P.M. MENTIONS DISASTER PREPAREDNESS.........
For the first time with Isabel for Bahamas and Eastern U.S.. Don't recall they normally do this with a storm this far from land:
THE EXTENT AND
ORIENTATION OF THIS RIDGING WILL BE CRUCIAL IN DETERMINING THE
POTENTIAL IMPACTS TO THE BAHAMAS AND THE EASTERN UNITED STATES.
GIVEN THAT ISABEL IS STILL SEVERAL DAYS AWAY FROM THESE
AREAS...THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TIME FOR RESIDENTS TO REVIEW THEIR
PREPAREDNESS PLANS IN CASE ISABEL BECOMES A DIRECT THREAT.

Looks like its time to start preparing now. I hope and pray that everyone along the southeast coast and in the Bahamas stay safe with this monster of a storm. I sends chills down my spin looking at the latest satellite images.
Just a quick question...how close is this system from coming into the Hebert Box?

sound like they have a gut feeling that Isabel may be the <B>"BIG ONE"</B> that they have been talking about for at least the last 7 years.
You know Florida is a sitting duck
Florida Peninsula is overdue (just 2 majors since 1965 - Betsy & Andrew)
They are starting to think like most of the board if you read in to it.

Good advice actually
With a hurricane this strong and this devastating moving west with little change in strength, I'd be worried, I would be preparing. The earlier you prepare, the better. Safety is the #1 issue here as well as saving lives in these situations. So what they said in the NHC discussion is very well stated and should continue to be stated over the next few days as this draws closer!!!

I think they are not real confident with where she will go. There was mention of the front not getting as far south as expected and having less impact on the future track. Better to prepare and not need the precautions than to wait til the last minute. I think it was good they are mentioning preparations but agree it is a bit unusual.

New Orleans has not had one since Betsy.
