Final rain event total at the Portastorm Weather Center ... 3.16 inches of liquid gold! :D

That was fun, wasn't it Texas?! Let's do it again soon. Glad to see the other healthy totals close to home and around the state. Congrats to aggiecutter and the good folks in NE Texas.

Wow Porta you did really well with this event!
I already miss the rain! Yesterday was one of the first days in a long time that had rain lasting more than a few hours. I loved it!
Please come back soon rain!

Sorry been really busy this past week but what a great weekend. I received 3.63 inches of rain here at my house and I am loving the beautiful weather. We will have a return to hotter and more humid conditions this week but hopefully should see another cold front with more rain chances toward next weekend.

Yes sir that looks like the next front. Both euro and GFS shows temps much like this weekend post frontal. Not a lot of rain with it though, no tropical system(s) involved so more of the typical quick line of showers. -AO persists so the fronts should keep coming, still waiting for signs of the EPO to go negative for the "big one."

Our drought-stricken lakes received a small boost. :) Let's hope the trend keeps up. I'm all for nice, sunny days, but the fact is, we still need water!

Here is an exerpt from the LCRA website this morning:

Highland Lakes, lower Colorado River basin benefit from Friday rains
Widespread moderate to heavy rains fell across much of the lower Colorado River basin Friday. The heaviest rains fell between Kerrville and Lampasas, where totals ranged from 3 to 6.5 inches. Totals of 2 to 4 inches fell around the Austin area, with lighter amounts further south.

By Sunday, Lake Travis had risen more than a foot and Lake Buchanan had risen a little more than an inch since the rains started on Friday. Additional gains are expected over the next few days as more water makes its way to the lakes from area streams and creeks.

Combined storage in lakes Travis and Buchanan has increased more than 10,000 acre-feet since early Friday. Combined storage remains at 32 percent of capacity.

49F this morning in the southern suburbs of Tulsa, which is a pretty decent start to the fall season. Now if we could just get some more rain - looks like a decent possibility for the weekend.

Driving my son to cross country practice this morning at 6 am, the temperature on Champ the Charger, the official chase vehicle of the Portastorm Weather Center, read 57 degrees! That is the coolest temps we've seen since early May.

And it is nice to run in cool weather. Your run is crisper. The gait is easier. The pace is better.

It's a sad time of the year when the highs don't reach 90F. Almost needed a long-sleeve jersey on Saturday. At least I finally got a good rain - 3.3" Friday night. First rainfall over 0.6" since May 10th. Time to start counting the days until the days start getting longer and temps creep back up. ;-)

Never! We have amazing sea ice this year in the Arctic! 2009 style, wall to wall cold! I hope.

The globals have trended a little wetter for this weekend (SAT/SUN frontal passage). FW mentions pwats rising to 2 inches again. Given there are no tropical entities and we are under a very dry air mass right now I'm not ready to jump on the 1-2 inch rain bandwagon yet. It's a noteworthy trend to follow the next few days.

Despite getting 2.25" of rain last week, I still have cracks in my yard. Hopefully this weekend trends wetter. The area lakes had very marginal increases.
