When will the next eastern Pacific storm form?

#1 Postby hurricanes1234 » Mon Sep 23, 2013 2:54 pm

Can someone please make this a poll? The question is "When will the next eastern Pacific storm form?" I just wanted to throw out this question to see everyone's thoughts, forecasts and opinions on when the next storm will form in this basin (there would also be an option for those who think that no more are going to form). In addition to this, is the MJO going to move towards the ePac anytime soon? What about an El Niño?

The MJO is in the Maritimes and WPAC, not likely going to move much for a long time. Subsidence (sinking air) is expansive across the EPAC and NATL as a result. Both basins are at their climatological downtrend. Development in eastern Pacific in October likes to hug the west Mexican coast and recurve, best place to look if one does form. Doesn't look good currently though.

Strange it forecasts one in open waters at this time of year. Does it say a TS or hurricane?

I'll go out on a limb and say May 19th.

Unlikely, but who knows with this year.

There is no Nada on the EPAC list. It's Narda.
