I agree 100% with Derek....T-7.0 equates to 140 kts and 921 mb.
It is unfortunate the NHC forecasters only have this monster's intensity set at 130 kts...and even sadder....by the time they get recon out there tomorrow afternoon, it will likely have peaked...and never recieve the category 5 rating justified.

It became a cat 5, officially this afternoon, so that is not an issue.
We do reserve the right to use a different CI. I instructed Cangialosi (for more info on him, <a href="http://orca.rsmas.miami.edu/~johnc/index.htm">Click Here</a> to go with a CI of 140KT after I estimated this to be 140KT at 12Z, and this was confirmed by SSD, and I have no regrest about calling this a 5 before NHC (unlike other "forecasters", this was based upon sound science)
