EVERYONE READ!!!!!!!
WHILE THIS STORM MAY NOT AFFECT EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER THE MODEL FORECASTS ARE POINTING THAT IT WILL AFFECT SOMEONE BUT...THINGS CAN CHANGE. THIS IS THE TIME TO GO OVER ALL YOUR PLANS OF ACTION AND MAKE SURE YOUR KITS AND SUPPLIES ARE IN ORDER. WITH FABIAN THE TRACK WAS MUCH MORE EVIDENT..A TURN AWAY FROM THE CONUS. THIS STORM IS MUCH MORE OF A THREAT. THE MODELS ARE IMPLYING A SERIOUS THREAT TO THE CONUS. AGAIN THIS COULD CHANGE..I JUST ASK YOU ALL..TO TAKE THIS AS A WAKE-UP CALL. IF YOUR NOT ALREADY PREPARED THIS SEASON TO DEAL WITH A STORM..NOWS THE TIME. LIKE I SAID..IT MAY NOT AFFECT ANYONE.....BUT I'D RATHER BE PREPARED AND NOT NEED TO ACT..THAN NOT BE PREPARED WHEN I HAD TO ACT.

well stated
Preparation is key. Being caught unprepared is not what we want to see. We don't want to lose life here. Best to be prepared!!!
At least review the hurricane prepartion plans now and have it ready in case the major direct threat comes!! That's the message worth mentioning tonight.

Preparation
I prepare all year long. I buy extra canned goods and water each time I shop. Batteries I use and re-stock as I use them. Of course I have flashlights packed away so they dont get lost. By the time hurricane season is here I am as ready as possible and just have to stock up on perishables. I am just a bit compulsive--LOL. My family laughs at me but I really dont care. Anytime we have had a threat here in New Orleans I dont have to fight the crowds.

Prices of plywood have doubled in more than LA. There was a news item about it here, saying that they think it's due to the government buying up all the wood for their foreign reconsturction projects. It isnt due to any storm.

Just my 2 cents worth here.......I will never be affected by a full blown hurricane however........as most of you know, I have been affected by 2 wildfires, one that forced me to evacuate, the other, pretty close........BUT, a person should ALWAYS have a FULL emergency supply kit on hand at ALL TIMES
With the way the world is anymore, it never hurts to have batteries, a NWS radio, canned goods, a stash of money, first aid kit etc, etc. Being with the White Mountain Apache Police Dept and Apache K9 Search and Rescue Unit......I can't tell you how many searches we have been on and I STILL can't believe just how many ppl are NOT prepared for the worst case scenario, like getting lost, NO ONE should get lost, there is NO EXCUSE for this in todays world, with GPS etc.
Bottom line, be prepared for anything at anytime, who knows, it could happen to you and with Sweetz being FEMA and a Nationally Certified SAR dog, it will make our jobs easier!
