Similarities between NHC 11 AM discussion and Fabian discuss

#1 Postby rob8303 » Thu Sep 11, 2003 12:44 pm

NHC 11 am discussion is very encouraging. Draw your own conclusions between this paragraph at the 11 am discussion for Isabel and a previous discussion for Fabian. There are striking similarities.

Here's NHC 11 am for Isabel:
LATE IN THE FORECAST PERIOD...THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT PLAYERS IN THE
STEERING OF ISABEL APPEAR TO BE THE RIDGE NEAR THE U.S. EAST COAST
AND A MID-LATITUDE TROUGH OVER THE EAST-CENTRAL UNITED STATES.
THERE IS SOME DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY THE DYNAMICAL GUIDANCE HANDLES
THESE FEATURES. SOME OF THE MODELS...SUCH AS THE GFS...NOW SHOW
THE TROUGH AS THE MORE DOMINANT SYSTEM. IF THIS TURNS OUT TO BE
THE CASE...THEN THE HURRICANE COULD TURN MORE NORTHWARD THAN SHOWN
HERE.

And here's the 11 pm edt discussion for Fabian on Saturday August 30:
GLOBAL MODELS ALL INDICATING A TROUGH
APPROACHING THE EAST COAST OF THE UNITED STATES ON DAYS FOUR AND
FIVE WILL HELP TO CREATE A WEAKNESS IN THE RIDGE NORTH OF FABIAN
AND ALLOW IT TO TURN MORE NORTHWESTWARD.

I know i'm drawing my own inferences. I invite you people to do the same

BTW, Isabel is now strongest atlantic hurricane since Floyd

Personally, I don't think Isabel will follow in Fabian's tracks.
