I gotta admit something......this is VERY interesting to say the least. Being a *mountain man*, I've had very little interest in the tropics UNTIL now......my interests, winter weather! Hurricane Isabell has *churned up* my inner curiosity in hurricanes!

Hey Dennis:
Welcome to the south! this is the time of year that we all hope and pray that we dont see the monster storms that we all know really could happen. When I have talked to some friends that live up north and have experienced tornados, I have to say that their tornados are much more destructive than ours here in Fla. but then when I speak of a hurricane, I also have to say "SUSTAINED" winds of 100+. The forecasting is like forecasting a twister, they really don't know where its going until it gets there. they can only use the guidance that they have and predict as closely as possible but where they make landfall is a mystery until the very end.
Never say never to a hurricane........
