A WSW could spell disaster for PR and thenorthern islands. Let's hope it stays its course for now or turns more northerly!

Anything is possible with a cat 5 but it is not likely that it will dip 2 latituds and then affect the islands.

Isabel has pretty much tracked due west with the lower-level eyewall really wobbling ... saw earlier a 40-frame 1 minute scan loop and it was unbelievable to look at.

Remember CAT 5 Mitch back in 1998....

it ended up turning SW after being stationary for so long.

Mitch wasn't supposed to turn SW. :?

Sometimes the general westward movement on the south side of ridge is for a time SW, without it being literally forecast.
