I really hate it when there is so much uncertainty in forecasting uncertainty. You just sit and wait for days and days at a time.

I don't think there should be "hate" involved. :) We all know that tropical systems are difficult to forecast, especially when there is ridge and a trough playing a major role in the ultimate path of {an intense} a hurricane.
