Can a monster be turned?
Can a monster like this be influenced on a dramic level by a through or could she go through it? I have always heard that the more powerful storms are less affected by some types of steering currents/

I've a question....
...is it possible for a storm to get soo stong that none of the models can get a grip on it? Or does the picture become clearer? How do the models perform on the super storms of the Pacific?

I'm no expert but it entirely depends on how far the trough gets. A related part of that is how long does the weakness in the high pressure ridge stay in relation to Isabel's motion. If it clears out and a ridge builds back in, then the ridge should force Isabel to the west. There's nothing to do but watch and wait right now....

it's all about momentum. if she's moving at a fairly good clip and still as strong, it's much tougher to get her to turn sharply. it would be more of a sweeping motion, arcing across.
think of a TS being a baseball traveling at, say, 90 mph... and a Cat 4/5 Hurricane being a car traveling at the same speed. It's much easier to deflect the baseball compared to the car.
