Even some Cebuanos are traumatized too like the Warays, Ilonggos and Tagalogs.

I really hope my grandpa's fine and survived there in Tacloban. Many are going to Cebu [and good for Cebu's economy, too! :D ].

I don't think I have ever seen devastation like that. I don't think even Katrina had such horrific scenes.

If haiyan happen, it will happen again or maybe it has happened before...

if this happened in the states, many would say it's because of global warming. Well people, the west pacific has been like this for a very long time...

In the city of Philadelphia and also around the area, there's a growing Filipino population. Our local news has been discussing the effects of people originally from that area or the Philippines in general and how they are trying to get a hold of friends and family and sending supplies their. Awful situation.

The truth is that devastation like that is possible anywhere mammoth hurricanes can happen. And as we know (even they know - example Washi in 2011), even weaker storms can be catastrophic.

In the Atlantic, a Category 5 barrelling into Haiti is probably the worst case when it comes to death toll.

Its Clear that tacloban received the brunt of the northern eyewall you dont get damage like that from anything less than CAT 5 that and radar data confirms. crazy damage.

Could well be some of the strongest winds ever recorded from such a close range... at least tropical cyclone-wise. Absolutely no words can describe it all.

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.
