If it gets stronger, it won't be on this eyewall cycle. Notice the erosion of the deeper colors on the northern side of Isabel and the NE semicircle doesn't look as circular as it did a few hours ago.

Who know? Only Isabel knows the answer to that but I wouldn't surprise if it intensified to 165-170 mph as no one even anticipated a Category 5 to be born.

This time yesterday it was a minimal category 4 hurricane with 135 mph wind. and pressure of 948

I didn't word it properly I meant this time yesterday would you have thought it would be a category 5 in 24 hours. This time yesterday it was barely category 4 intensity.

Agreed SF...saw the warming myself and the ERC starting. It has peaked for the next 24-36 hours in my opinion. The ONLY thing that can change that is if recon gets in there and finds a stronger hurricane than has been estimated. So...if recon gets in there and finds a 180 mph storm...then it will technically "strengthen"...but really it will have weakened because of the eyewall cycle that is happening now.
