discussion regarding NE steering of Isabel. Perhaps I read it wrong, but I do not get the impression the Mets believe it will have much influence on her track:

Well no expert here but..IF the trough is benign..then the ridge building westward with Isabel will make it move west>>>???? :roll:

Exactly my thoughts, Rainband. I'll go with that for now, instead of the wildly fluctuating models.

I agree with those above me. Thursday model runs make no sense with the current goings-on.

There hasn't really been any change between the last couple days and today with the trough in the south-central United States.

Yes indeed, the due westward movement of Isabel over the last 18 to 24 hours has at least something to do with the ridge to the storm's northeast.
