Hm, I was just about to post it looked like we were in for a bit of a dry spell, since its moving off the NE, there doesnt seem to be a whole heck of a lot to SW to cover us in a little while. Not saying it wont redevelop later, but to me it looked like a pause in the precip was coming for Dallas.

Well it looks to me like the immediate metro area will be in some lighter precip for a bit, but the band itself looked like it was expanding a little and consolidating. I think it looks a bit stronger compared to a few hours ago when it was just some spotty activity. I was probably getting a little ahead of myself but it does look like the situation will continue to deteriorate.

It is freezing drizzle here in Midlothian.

If we don't survive this, we won't survive this.

Been getting some very light freezing drizzle here in the Cedar Hill area. The cars are starting to ice up just a little bit. Temp is holding steady in the upper 20s.

Bryan (Coulter Field) is now reporting 36.7 degrees. Still feels like it is going to get colder than forecast.

With relation to the Austin-area situation, I was just perusing the temps on the LCRA hydromet site and see that temps in northwest Travis County are already close to freezing. Think there definitely will be some icing issues tomorrow morning in the northwest and west parts of the county ... for the morning commute. And if you know Austin, you know we have a LOT of people who drive into town from those parts of the county.

My concerns are not with the temps. It's the moisture. Still kinda seems to me like much of it will not be available on the southern end of this system. I know I keep waffling on that but...

Just so you folks know what's happening far to your North.....

Moose Jaw's overnight temps
Low minus 31. Extreme wind chill minus 41

Looks like it plans on heading elsewhere afterwards.....

34.9 in far southern Williamson County (Anderson Mill area).

The problem definitely won't be temperature.

Saving grace is so far its mostly sleet, but still a little freezing rain mixed in..

Cement is almost totally covered and icy, so roads have to be a nightmare right now.. Temp 25.5 now..

Since this has moved through, does that mean we won't be without power?

I dont think there was really much concern for a Denton power outage for early evening. The real threat, if the forecast holds, will be late night.
