Ice has really started to accumulate on trees and power lines the past couple hours. Probably around .25 of Ice.

Hopefully round 2 tonight is mostly snow/sleet. If it stays FZR, things could get ugly fast.

Yeah it looks pretty bad out there from a radar standpoint.

Measured ICE on trees a little over .5 inche and still coming down at a good rate. I'm afraid power will be gone by morning at this rate.

NWS pretty much nailed the timing for my area. Said after 4AM Sleet/FZR would transition to snow, well, I got about and inch in the last 25 minutes. :D

I figured I would put this here since it's very close to Oklahoma, but Greenwood, Arkansas has been hammered tonight with 1.35 inches of Freezing Rain recorded and still falling. Many, many with no power over there.

Wow that is crippling ice accumulations.

Precip looks to be ending right about now in Norman, but based on my crude measurements we got about 4 inches of snow since last night... not bad at all considering our yearly average is only 5-6 inches

Bad news as 2 deaths have occurred with this storm.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - At least two deaths have been blamed on a winter storm sweeping through Oklahoma that has brought snow and ice and bone-chilling temperatures.

Oklahoma City police say an unidentified man was discovered dead under an overpass in an area where transients are known to congregate. On Thursday, a 5-year-old boy from Fort Gibson was killed when a van he was riding in overturned on an icy road.

Officials are discouraging travel across much of Oklahoma on Friday because of slick and hazardous conditions. Gov. Mary Fallin on Thursday declared a state of emergency for all 77 counties.

Forecasters say precipitation is expected to move out of the Oklahoma City metro area by midday Friday, but single-digit temperatures will blanket the state Friday night.

Here in Tulsa we got 5 inches of snow and 0.25 inch of sleet. Are we supposed to have anything Saturday/Sunday?

Any new news on eastern Arkansas/southeastern Oklahoma those 1+ inch accumulations can cause significant problems.

Now on to the bitter cold (I think some rural eastern areas that got significant snow cover could dip below 0 tonight) Also Bedlam tomorrow should be the coldest in series history (since the game starts at 11 those early morning tailgates could be particularly frigid) :cold:

I was just wondering what the forecast for Bedlam was looking like. Any freezing precip gonna fall or just crazy cold?

There shouldn't be much precip tomorrow around Stillwater (some models do show the potential for some light precip (mainly snow) starting late Saturday early Sunday for Northern Ok) but I doubt there will be any come game time. However, temps will likely be in the low to mid teens at kickoff and only warm up into the mid 20's. Should be an interesting game.
