I have the forecasts and discussions e-mailed to my cell phone so that I don't miss anything wherever I am.

For those of you that didn't know, the National Hurricance Center Web site has a WAP enabled version for your cell phones.

Miss Mary wrote:Rob - Andrew turned me into a wx junkie, of sorts!!! LOL I know Isabel is big deal, a huge deal! If Andrew did what it did for me personally, one can only hope for me if Isabel stays a Cat 5. My family will be checking me into a rehab place....LOL Even though you're way younger than me, I can relate a little.

Hang in there....

Thanks Miss mary. You helped me covince myself I wasn't crazy for being so interested in this. Thanks, and thanks to everyone else for their kind words and help. MissMary, you were in Andrew in '92. What was that like?

YEAH I AM GETTING ADDICTED TOO

#24 Postby Anonymous » Thu Sep 11, 2003 10:56 pm

I have noticed that I an beginning to arrange my life around the 11AM, 5PM, and 11PM National Hurricane Center updates. I am talking to everyone about this fabulous board and about WxChat. I have my comp set to play "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions hour after hour after hour. Man I am ADDICTED to WxChat, to THIS fine board, to the S2K Chat Room, and to "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions, as well as to Isabel herself. I am reading newspapers, watching TWC, lurking at GoPBI, and at Yahoo Weather, CNN, and other places so desperate for news of Izzy. I am also posting like a hurricane fanatic at WxChat!!!! I got up at 3 in the morning just to fire up the comp for 2 minutes to check up on how many new members have joined Storm2k!!!! :)

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL !!!!!!!!!

Wow, discussing 'Canes is SOOOOOOO fun....................

I am online frequently because there usually is nothing else to do. Most evening I spend some time offline.

It is great to correspond with people that have a common interest. Those of us that have been following the (tropical) weather for a number of years are still learning.

Rob - quick note....I wasn't in Andrew, just got all caught up in the excitement of watching the storm evolve on TWC. I stayed up quite late that night, after 2 a.m. We had just come home from a family reunion. Several members were watching TWC in the main family cabin. And I was like - mmmmm, TWC covers a story like this, so intensely? LOL From that moment on, I was hooked on TWC, wx, and then eventually message boards.

So no, in a wordy way, no quick note here, LOL, I wasn't in Andrew. Sorry for that confusion. Felt so deeply for those caught in harms way though.
