Are these Winter Storm names officially sanctioned by the the National Weather Service? It just seems so corny to me. Do they have categories like Hurricanes and official landfalls?
No. No And no...LOL
What an Absolute JOKE for them to be naming storms as if it's something official. What genius over there thought of that?

There just little ones not the big fluffy ones. So they wouldn't be seen on camera. Sorry if I miss named what I saw.
Now if you want to see pictures of how cold it is I can do that.

Looking like I may get some snow flakes to accompany me on my way home tonight. Though I fear that where I live will be too far north to see a whole lot of anything tonight, but Tyler looks like it may get some this evening and tonight.

Yeah, I figured they were to small to bother with. Hey, at least you are witnessing something. Our friends down south are the winners this go-around. Still a blast to follow the happenings down there.

Here's hoping you all can get a nice winter storm in the next 24 hours - one that surprises and even over delivers!!! Not to mention one that sends our dear friend Heat Miser packing for the equator.

Snow for everyone in Bevoland and points south and east. Heck, even sneaux for our friends in Tigerland!

Thanks. We're gonna need it. You never quite know with Texas winter storms. Some areas will definitely be big winners while others will be wieners. I hope I'm not the latter!

Just left our meeting in Pensacola and on our way back to Biloxi for the night. Meeting in Baton Rouge at 10am then I'll be racing back to Houston to crank the Texas thermostat back up.

Seriously, don't drive tomorrow unless you absolutely have to, and avoid bridges and elevated roadways. It's going to be quite slippery out there tomorrow.

Bunch of tiny flakes here in downtown Tyler. Can even see it blowing across the sidewalk when the wind kicks up.

For all of my fellow Storm2Kers out in Texas, please be careful out there tonight and Friday during this event, especially elevated surfaces as wxman alluded to above!

Latest HRRR/RUC (20z) shows moderate to heavy freezing rain/sleet over Austin by 8 p.m. Will be interesting to see if that verifies.

Seeing numerous reports now of rain/sleet in northern and northwestern Travis County and throughout Williamson County.

I'm still downtown but about to hop into Champ the Charger, the official PWC chase vehicle, and head back to PWC HQ for a long night ahead! :cheesy:

Some good advice from wxman57. If you don't have to go out don't do it. Sure you may drive as well as batman but the person next to you may not. This is a 0-2 on the sperry piltz scale and shouldn't result in complete shut downs but it is Southern Texas after all, the roads will be chaos tomorrow morning.
