It's quite funny actually. because the first model run that showed snow was las Saturday and it had it occurring in East Texas.

That will not happen. Clouds will keep the temp way above 15.

You know who is the loser so far? Me...

NO your Not! At least your getting precipitation, i'd gladly take what your getting right now. It's as dry as my avatar's skin here, and thats not good.

I know but I just want some frozen precip! It seems like everyone around me has seen some but me. I'm hoping that changes when the next band of precip moves in.

Nothing here since the frozen drizzle stopped. I think there is an umbrella above our neighborhood!

ha, easy. college station has dropped below freezing and echoes are increasing out west. I'm not too worried. We still have a long way to go and still some time before things are even supposed to get interesting.

Check out the increasing radar returns around Austin and San Antonio though. That activity is moving northeastward.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials say they have responded to nearly 60 wrecks between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday due to icy road conditions in the area.

I don't know how accurate those obs are Rgv. CLL was reporting snow this afternoon but it was really just rain.
I just talked to my parents in SA and they said they haven't got any sleet yet, just freezing rain. So I doubt snow is falling in Alice right now.

You think the next round of precip here will mostly be sleet/snow? I think it will be.

Well it has to be frozen, all zip codes of college station are below freezing now, at worst itll be freezing rain. With the people of sleet/snow on here reporting sleet and snow west of here I think its a pretty safe bet.

Sleet picked up again here at the Weatherdude Center. Went out to check my weather instruments before bed. The rain sensor has ice covering the water entry opening, and the wind sensor cups are moving, but the wind direction indicator is stationary, showing resistance when I physically try to move it. I left it in the NNW position. :cold: :flag: :froze:

Suffice it to say I won't be getting any accurate wind readings or precipitation amounts until they thaw out.

San Antonio/Austin Radar really lighting up!!!! Only if we can get stuff here in Greater Houston to transition. Temps are struggling to fall further. I have been stuck at 36 for about 3+ hours!!! Trying to wait for further temp falls but I'm getting impatient. Even areas at are near Freezing are still reporting rain.
