12z European output on WxBell shows 2-3" of "snow" for lower and middle Rio Grande Valley beginning at midnight and lasting through tomorrow morning. Can't say whether it is ice, sleet, and/or snow, however. More than likely, sleet. I wonder if a WWA or WSW should be issued.

Re: Texas Winter 2013-2014
I'm still getting a sleet/snow mix here... 25° ... hasn't stopped since it started over 5 hours ago. Heavier now than it was earlier this morning. Glad I didn't go to work! There's ice everywhere. All major bridges are closed and many other roads.

There was indeed a good layer of ice on our sidewalk, driveway and street.
Cloudy and 28. Water dripping off the southern facing roof as the roof warms up a little from the earlier sun. North facing roof still iced over.
Are we done for this event in Austin now? I know that the advisory ended and I don't see anything coming this way...
To all of y'all in the path - stay home!

I wouldn't let your guard down by any means. Take it from me who despite being careful or at least thinking I was, slipped and fell on my side. I think I'm OK but I'm thinking I bruised some ribs. Austin is not out of the clear just yet. If you don't need to be outside then don't.

Probably not, but hey last fall there was an evening with 0% chance of rain and guess what. The skies opened up that night and Big Thunder storm rolled through so anything can happen.
EDIT: getting some good moisture returns out west though. One can dream

Yes, we're done in terms of no more precip and conditions slowly improving this afternoon. However, as jdawg put it, be very careful outside.

Now that looks good. It looks like the Euro and GFS are starting to come to an agreement.

Also, Euro shows an almost identical system moving through Texas a few days later but the big difference being its much colder - bringing everyone from San Antonio north in on the winter weather action. Very interesting time period for following Texas winter weather!!

I was expecting the NWS in Brownsville would have issued at least a Winter Weather Advisory by now.
