Yes and if both of these verified I could bet this forum will be close to 400 pages by next Friday.

No doubt about it, the sport of model watching/storm chasing leading up to a big storm can be emotionally and physically draining. Get some rest, you'll need for next week

Here's a graphic of the 12Z Euro from my workstation. It's 24hr precip but really only covers about 12hrs as the precip is just reaching east TX. The Euro doesn't go out far enough to show final 24hr totals. Values are in centimeters, so 5cm = 2", 15cm = 6", etc. Dark blue line is the surface freezing line.

That long range storm isnt the one to watch (yet), the one before it is to watch first in the medium range. That seems to be the big news storm with severe weather, blizzard, and cold driving down to Mexico.

Well, I for one, need a break. I wouldn't mind a week of wxman57 weather before we go back into the deep freeze.

These events are extremely taxing on me personally due to work demands associated with weather/emergency management/etc. I've gone through this drill twice in the last five days. Ugh.

I was expecting the NWS in Brownsville would have issued at least a Winter Weather Advisory by now.

NWS BRO is forecasting 60% snow/sleet for me tonight, and 60% of snow/sleet tomorrow morning. My only thought as to why some kind of advisory or warning has not been issued is because they believe there will be little or no accumulation.

Problem is that while people in Austin, San Antonio, and Houston have trouble driving in these conditions, the folks in deep South Texas really don't have a clue as to how to navigate in these types of conditions. Without an advisory or warning, schools may opt not to cancel, which can lead to travel headaches. We shall see once they issue their afternoon discussion.

I've been checking the site here and there! Just have been a bit busy with work. I am excited about next month, though! It looks like things will finally be getting interested in North Texas again.

I can't stand this cold and dry weather! We need snow!
