Are you still showing the Upside map of yours for next week? LOL

00Z Euro shifted the snow north to the sothern Panhandle through Dallas/Ft. Worth next Tue/Wed. Up to a foot of snow in the D-FW area from 6pm Tue to 6pm Wed. Over 20" farther east. Note that the contours are in 5cm intervals. 2.5cm = 1 inch, 10cm = 5 inches, 25cm = 10 inches, etc. Note that the 00Z GFS is quite different from the Euro - worlds apart in fact.

I like this map! :D Though if that 20+ inches could shift a good 200-300 miles to the west that would be even better.

The forecast for next week is looking like many expected going into February for northern Texas maybe even more promising for rain and especially winter weather. Maybe instead of going up to New Mexico this year I can go up and bring the snowmobiles down here .

Gah! I'd rather not have 20+" of snow. You can't walk in that. And shoveling it off my driveway would be a nightmare. Even the foot is too much. But it is a pretty graphic to look at even if it probably won't verify. :)

Wow....

“@weatherchannel: RT @TWCBreaking: I-10 closed from MM 17 to MM 112, and also from MM 152 to MM 181 in Fla. Panhandle. That's 124 miles total!"

The local Fox 4 forecast here in Dallas shows 30's and 40's for next week with rain. Man I hope the Euro is onto something. Yesterday forecasted temps were in the 50's for next week. At least they are going in the right direction. I am afraid it might not be cold enough.

It will be cold enough, they're not going to forecast frigid a week away, EPO/WPO says so never fails with 1050+. In fact we need to start considering a prolonged freeze may occur from those indexes once the storm(s) are over.

Is the 0z GFS kind of looking like a repeat of the ice storm from December? Where the precipitation is falling just as the Temperatures are hitting the freezing mark.

Do we in SELA need to worry about winter weather with this event or is it going to be confined to Northern TX and Arkansas? I noticed this morning that TWC app had snow in its extended forecast for us on Thursday. It has since taken it out. However, they are already forecasting highs in the 40s on wednesday with small rain chances. In my experience they often start high on temps and trend way down. Believe it or not, I think I am done with winter weather unless the models can promise me a really good snow. I have seen enough sleet for the year. haha

Interesting because I saw the same thing with my weather station. It was 16, then went to 20, then down to 18. All within about 30 mins which doesn't make any sense. I was thinking it's having issues and maybe I need to replace the battery.

On a positive note, the dewpoint is up to 14. C'mon moisture!

I noticed on my way out a high level cloud deck, I think that may have something to do with it.

Some gossip and chatter of secret files within the bustling PWC HQ. Papers and charts labeled "Operation Glaciation" were rumored to have been seen. Perhaps our field reporter Texas Snowman or loyal TV channel viewer Tireman4 may have some insight!

I'm on it. I'll have a report later this morning. Exciting times in the PWC weather world!

We've tasked Texas Snowman and Ntxw with regular updates and insights over the next few days as PWC HQ recovers from Icemageddon 2.

So, what ended up happening in the Valley last night and this morning? I haven't seen hardly any news since a few posts from very early this morning.

Big O? Rgv20? How did things shake out for y'all?

Yeah, it's almost like the kiss of Lucy.

With the pattern changing, I expect more wildness from the models in the next few days. It will probably be Sat/Sun before we get a real idea of what might happen.

It would just be nice if our friend (or foe) the WPO would cooperate and trend more negative. Guidance has trended more Neutral, or even positive, through early February.

ESRL forecast for epo and wpo has been about as bad as NOAA's winter forecast. ALL models tank the WPO. How's that neutral to positive EPO doing? How they come up with that against guidance and daily index is beyond me.
