Hi everyone!

I haven't posted in here in several days, so I am scanning the pages.

Well, it's a shame that Dennis resigned, but I have to say it's his loss. :?

It is a sunny 64* today after getting over 7 inches of rain in less than 24 hours from Thursday into Friday. :o
Needless to say, we had some flooding problems here. It could have been worse though. (it HAS been much worse)
We never got the severe weather that we thought was possible, just good ol' thunderstorms....and lots of them! Most of that rain came in just a few hours so we got pounded!

Anyway, that's all over with...until middle of next week anyway. I am trying to get over this stupid sickness, whatever the heck it is. It is driving me crazy! I have a constant headache and I can't seem to shake this terrible cough and cold. Fever comes and goes, but I just haven't felt right in a while. :(

pojo...I wish you luck with the tough decision you have to make and good luck with your tough classes.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! :D

southerngale - There's a lot of nasty stuff going around. Hope you're feeling better soon.

We just had thundersnow here, so forgive me if you see me on a posting frenzy. I'm just so excited! :D

Hi everyone. This storm is pretty much of a bust here. From the weather radar, it looks like the storm sucked up a band of drier air that is streaming over us. Cold damp and dreary though. Time to get caught up on my inside work. I brought work home with me this weekend and have'nt got to it yet. Too much time on the boards, I guess.
Southerngale take care with that cold. There sure is lots of stuff going around.
Gator that's a funny story about a sunbather on a frozen lake!

Holy Chit is cold!!! Currently 19* with +4* windchill. Winds are NE at 21mph gusting NE 30 mph. I was so used to the 40*+ days that we have been having, that I had to dig out my winter coat! All I have to say...that's Wisconsin's Microclimate for ya!

The UWGB lady phoenix won today over UW-Milwaukee. 75-50. It was an awesome game!!! It was definitely a hi-lite reel game! To bad we are only a mid-major conference, ESPN would have had a field day with todays game. Awesome In-State rivalry! http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/boxscore?gameId=230532739 FYI, Tiffany Mor, UWGB lady phoenix Junior forward turned 21 today...and at halftime, she was leading all points scorers.

I'm hoping to talk to the recruiter on Monday about my decision...lets just hope I can get in contact with him.

I should probably hit the books, I have a calc II midterm on Monday.

Good evening, fellow Stovians! It's dropped from 60F at noon
down to 43F with a wind chill of 33F, and pouring rain! Brrrrrr!!! :o
There's a pot of chili on the stove, so, everybody grab a bowl
and help yourself, if you want some - there's a box of crackers
on the coffee table, plus a bag of Fritos for you chili-pie fans -
shredded cheese in the friggie! :ggreen:

Southerngale, I hope that cough gets better - I feel for ya - I had it
a few weeks ago, and, I swear that I have a stress fracture in my
ribs from coughing so hard - my right side is STILL sore!

Rob, I hope you're not hung-over too bad from your birthday
celebration - LoL, if so, just cure it with a little "hair of the dog"... :D

Isobar, are you still having thundersnow? Tryin' to think - don't think I
have ever experienced that.

Everyone else, have a good evening! I'm stokin' the fire and settling
down on the end of the couch with a bowl of chili and the morning
paper that I have yet to finish reading!

Good evening everyone. It is 59.5 here and partly cloudy. A big storm is projected for Monday and Tuesday. :o

Hope all are well and dry today. It seems to be a wet day across much of the country. :o

I'll see you later, not much to report till later. Joshua

breeze - Thanks for the chili and cheese. I brought some sour cream and chopped green onions (just gotta). Oh that hit the spot! :)
Yeah, it was my first thundersnow, and it was just downright weird. There was hardly any rumble to it. There's an interesting thread going on in the USA Weather forum about it.
BTW, it sounds like you may have torn an intercostal rib muscle. Been there, done that. It'll heal eventually. Take care.

Night everyone....have a great Sunday and beyond in this now tranquil time between storms! Looks like we just had one of the most violent outbreaks of weather since 1997 in the same areas. Just think there's more like that on the way for the end of the month...stay tuned!

Good morning to everyone. Presently, we have
Temp 37°F
Cloudy
Feels Like 37°F
Wind: From the East at 3 mph
Dew Point: 30°F
Humidity: 76 %
Visibility: Unlimited
Barometer: 30.02 inches and rising

The pouring rain briefly changed over to snow, last night, and
barely dusted the ground before it stopped. It was really pretty
while it was coming down, but, I'm glad that it didn't stick! I am
way too ready for Spring!

Josh, I hope that this week's storm gives you some wet stuff, out
there!

Thanks, isobar - the ribs are aching less, this morning, so, I think
I'm on the mend with that. Thanks for bringing the sour cream and
onions to go with the chili - man, we Stovians know how to
take something and make a yummy feast out of it, eh? :ggreen:

SHHEESH breeze the thong song hey....well thats a way to start the day! Maybe u should consider buying the storm2k thong from the store!!!!!

It is a beautiful day here too Chad, bit on the breezy side but the sun is a shining.

ROTF, Amanzi....the thong from the storm2k store is
what started the whole hilarious episode! I hate it
that you missed it! (And, ticka, I STILL think that
they should be on sale!)

Chad, enjoy the green - sounds like a lovely day
for a round or two, there.

lmao I saw the thongs too and wondered who was modeling inside those and the camisoles to FILL out the fabric? lol Whoever she is, she's stacked! lol

Anyhow, I got a few things from the store and when I'm out and about I can proudly display the ol stickers from the site so I'll never truly be away from it!

1st time I didnt make chat yesterday @ 8pm, but made it in earlier, since I was stormcasting and relaying info all across the world practically. It was a wild day from Thursday on and it looks like part 2 will be coming this week...Stay Tuned! We could have a 1-2 punch all over again!

I have a VA appointment tomorrow morning and I'll be gone half of the day....they are re0running EKG's and other tests, and making sure I'm ok physically. I feel fine and everything is cool, but you cant knock follow-ups and blow them off....besides its free medical screening, you cant beat that! I'm also reopening a claim for benefits and looking into a PTSD claim as well on the side.

My brother-in-law just got 100% a month...close to $2000 and he doesnt have to work anymore. He is sane and he just came back from some 3 month program, so he's sittin pretty with that and now will also get SS kicked in and hes only 55.

I'll be floating around the halls today and watching some TV and relaxing from yesterday....thats was a nightmare....some 150 reports of winds, hail and tornadoes...check out the SPC site or the watch/warning thread I have going.

Have a great Sunday ya'll...try not to OD on the chili...I'm going to make a big pot of it now!

Hello all

breeze...sorry to hear about your ribs. I feel for you and can definitely relate. I had bronchitis for the first time in my life right after Christmas and the cough has never completely gone away. I thought I had cracked some ribs then. It got better, but now I'm back to coughing a lot and the sore ribs again. I should probably go to the doctor, but I hate going! I keep thinking it will go away. I've never been one to get sick very often, but this year has been one thing after another. Enough already!

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. I've been spending a lot more time at home lately because I don't feel good. :(
I'm ready to get out and enjoy this sunshine!!! Uh-oh though...looks like more storms coming this week.

I popped into chat for a few minutes last night and everyone was discussing thongs and smoking....lol
As entertaining as it was, I didn't have much time to spend there.

Let us know you're ok when you get back from your appt. Rob.

Good Windy Afternoon WxPals! :D :)

#557 Postby Skywatch_NC » Sun Feb 23, 2003 5:02 pm

Hello isobar! :)

I took a one night orientation course at the local community college near my city of Roanoke Rapids in March 1996 to become a certified Skywarn volunteer spotter. :) So far in all the years since that time I've only seen nickle sized hail in my neighborhood from a thunderstorm. I have my Skywarn Spotter Guide and my always trusty NOAA tone-alert radio near me when severe wx threatens...as was the case for much of NC yesterday! :o

I don't do any actual storm-chasing or photography with a digital camera, though.

Eric :)

Never was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or Tornado Warning for my county of Halifax yesterday, though, so dodged the bullet again. :)

Neighboring Warren and Northampton counties had a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, but as of yet, I haven't heard of what occurred there for severe criteria. :o
