I think ours did the same. Water was barely running out this morning when I washed my hands after letting the dog out. I was very confused and realized it must have begun to freeze or was frozen but just now thawing out. Never happened at this house but we have only been here for 6 years. I just didn't expect it since they didn't freeze the previous nights. I guess you are right, they were already so cold it only took one more really cold night. At least they didn't burst!

We were in the 70's yesterday and now we are struggling to hit 40 today. Looks like some cold rains ahead this week, possibly a freeze Thursday night and looks like more hard freezes are possibly in about 7 days. January 2014 will go down as the 8th coldest January on record for Lafayette. I believe it!

Bogus, but I think you know that. The Euro's snow algorithm isn't set right for the Gulf Coast. I'd expect cold rain vs. snow.

But I thought you told us never to trust the models until they are 2-3 days out.......

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR IS INDICATING AREAS OF
LIGHT RAIN AND DRIZZLE MIXED FALLING ACROSS SOUTHEAST TEXAS AND
SOUTHERN LOUISIANA THIS MORNING. RAINS ARE MOVING TO THE NORTH. IN
ADDITION...FOG HAS FORMED FROM OVER THE REGION FROM THE NEARSHORE
WATERS NORTHWARD INTO CENTRAL LOUISIANA AND LAKES REGION OF
SOUTHEAST TEXAS. THIS HAS LOWERED THE VISIBILITY ACROSS THE REGION
AND MOTORISTS SHOULD USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
Talk about a cold, wet and dreary type morning. It's hard to get moving on days like this.

They may be getting it from the forecast on 2theadvocate.com. Word started spreading at work, and somebody finally told me where they were getting it. I looked, and it is there. I don't believe it, but it's there.

Wow, you are right. That seems really odd. They show a chance for just a very small period of time. That's a little more than misleading since the majority of any precip would be rain and even that is 30% at best. Kids are going to be freaking out tomorrow afternoon when school isn't canceled. Wonderful.

Currently 38º and 98% humidity here. Now this wet cold is just bone chilling. We are supposed to have mostly sunny and a high of 54º today. I cannot wait because this Cajun gal needs sunshine. I can't handle all of these cloudy and dreary days. Hope everyone enjoys their winter reprieve today because it's the only day we'll see sunshine until Sunday.

Thought this might be interesting to share with my south LA neighbors this morning.
Hot off the presses the 12z is showing, you guessed it, some snow for us.
Do I think it will happen? Only when I see it will I believe it. Just like the cat 5 that going to explode in the gulf from the invest in three days and hit NO.

The 00z Euro continues to show light amounts of snow over south Louisiana, up to a half inch in some places. NWS mentioning adding frozen precip to northern zones later. I wouldn't be surprised to see a flurry, or a sleet pellet or a freezing drop of water

The Euro snow algorithm is not very good for the Gulf coast. I think it's assuming that a surface (or somewhere in the lower levels) temp of 32 or below = snow. The 12Z Euro has snow from Houston to southern Mississippi tomorrow (up to a few tenths). It was forecasting 2-4" for that area last week. All we got was sleet and freezing rain. This time there's very little moisture to work with.
