Jeez, snow just keeps getting heavier here. Interesting AFD update out of Fort Worth calling for enhanced mesoscale banding.

Flakes in Heath have gotten bigger, but the rate they are falling isn't near what it was.

You and orangeblood called it! Even the great Steve McCauley was wrong on this one!

How does it feel, Ntxw? Knowing you outperformed, Steve?

And they both have mentioned to look out for the Tuesday system. Hmmmmmmmmm. :D

Yup, big flakes falling in Garland now too! :D It's been snowing at least since I woke up at 8am with a dusting on the ground, I have about a half inch now.

I went out to the street and tried to slide around on my shoes, this stuff is really impossible to slip/slide on unless you're really trying to do so.... but I'm sure that the roads will turn messy with enough traffic friction melting the snow and then refreezing, so be careful driving.

Not to get too far ahead of today, but the shortwave tomorrow looks pretty potent. I wouldn't be surprised to see some more wintry fun across southern Oklahoma and northern Texas.

DFW is going to have a bit of snow cover. I wonder what that will do, if anything, with highs on Friday?

A lot of people who are trickling into work here are saying that the roads are getting pretty bad. Everyone be careful out there

Folks: Releasing everyone now would cause a 'Atlanta' incident in D/FW. Snow will stop by 2 PM and crews will get a handle on it. #dfwwx

The Dallas Zoo just closed:

@DallasZoo: Well, we tried. But icy snow has coated our hilly walkways. We want you to be safe, so we're closing. #comeonspring #txwx

I'm sure it'll keep them lower along with some cloud cover.

EDIT: With that said, we may be 'fighting' some WAA. Especially south of I-20.

Looks like EWX added the 10% chance because of what they explain in this update:

WE HAVE LOWERED TODAY/S HIGH TEMPERATURES BY A FEW DEGREES ACROSS
MOST OF THE REGION. THE LATEST RUC13 AND SREF MODEL DATA SUGGESTS
HIGHS WILL REMAIN IN THE 30S ACROSS MOST AREAS...WITH TEMPS
STRUGGLING TO REACH FREEZING OVER THE HILL COUNTRY. HIGHS ALONG
THE I-35 CORRIDOR WILL STRUGGLE TO REACH THE MID 30S. NO CHANGES
TO THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY JUST YET AS THE LATEST RADAR DATA
CONTINUES TO SHOW SOME LIGHT ECHOES ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY SLOWLY
MOVING INTO THE I-35 CORRIDOR. WE COULD SEE SOME LIGHT SNOW OR
GRAUPEL FROM THIS ACTIVITY. GIVEN THE LIGHT RADAR RETURNS...WOULD
NOT EXPECT ANY SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS FROM THIS ACTIVITY.

So much for no moisture in the air today and virga, have almost 2 inches of snow here around denton and still snowing at a fair clip. Sanders and Plows are out, nothing melting at 15 degrees. Roads just getting worse.

snow will probably stop by then, but it won't melt with temps around 20 degrees. probably will be some gridlock later today. situation looks unavoidable since most ppl went to work today. :--(
