Haha, thanks for the fans Screamer! Unfortunately, our Olympians are 10 time zones away from me so I can't control their actions. I'll tell you what though, if 57 agrees to my truce for the next two weeks, if you don't mind turning those fans off, I'll try to send some of 57's warmth your way :D

I'm thinking the problem is a little closer to home...ABC network is doing the snitching!!!

re truce hmmmmmm your HEAT you say (and just at this time of year :D NOT in the summer  though!?!)

I think we can work out a deal on those terms!!!

p.s. just leave our medal count alone :onfire: ....this Canadian has waited her whole life to see what happened in Vancouver and what's happening now Russia!!!! If'en you don't Houston WILL be recording my temps LAST NIGHT :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: )!!! :spam:

yeah, just as it looked like it was going to taper off with daytime heating, it appears it's built back up.

Wichita Falls/Abilene are more likely areas for a freezing-drizzlemaggedden Dallas area is not cold enough.
So how bad is the Wichita Falls area looking to get? We had some slick roads this morning from the freezing drizzle but now I am hearing that more ice will accumulate making matters worse! I didn't want this, I just wanted more of the snow!
I thought it was already "bad" in wf just from the reports I saw coming out of the surrounding areas & from Txdot/Nws. Wfisd cancelled school today. You might not have much drizzle but if its 22 degrees anything that falls will freeze.
The roads were icy this morning but have since dried up. I was curious if we were to expect more of the same tonight with the ice or if it will be light snow.. Snow is good but ice is bad!

The almighty rap 20z at 18 hours had a large precip shield moving over/towards the dfw metro.. (AFTER tonight's freezing drizzle &fog) predominate precip type most likely freezing rain/sleet . IMO could get seriously icy if this verifies..

Take it from me, that pesky mist could mean big trouble. I never posted the pics from the Austin event back in December. Maybe ill post them up later.

Yeah, could be a pretty big bust in the making. I hope not though! Ice storms are never fun.

Absolutely amazed that at 29 degrees and mist all day, we've had very little acculation. The temp remains the same but the sun is setting, and now everything is developing a heavy glaze very quickly!

Light-Moderate precip on top of dfw with a strong moderate band moving in from the south.

2 key things : • this is AFTER 24+ hours of freezing drizzle
• temps are going to be cold enough for high accumulation ratios with anything that falls.(& in this case the rap has detected an additional moderate band)

What's causing all the freezing drizzle today? Overunning of warm air over the cold dome at the surface? Sure has lasted all day long!

Sorry...running way behind today with schoolwork, but I wanted to post a quick note to say we will see on and off again freezing drizzle and even a few sleet pellets / snow flurries through tomorrow with less than 0.10" expected. Although there will not be much precip, there will be slick spots on the roads and overpasses where the drizzle occurs.

Many areas of north Texas will have nothing or just trace amounts of precipitation, so hopefully we can get by this event without too much disruption, but as you all know, it doesn't take much to make things go slip 'n slide.

Tomorrow will be the last day of winter for a while as we warm up dramatically, especially by Thursday as we get back to the 60s, and it's into the 70s for the weekend.

Not sure what to expect here, forecasted low in my area tonight is 35, already dropped to 36. Was just outside replacing a headlight on the car, felt like 36. And we have a light drizzle.
