Nervously waiting...
As I here in Central Florida nervously wait the potential arrival of the pretty girl named Isabel.. I am reminded of something.
HOW MUCH OUR LOCAL METS ARE ON THE COLD FRONT BANDWAGON..
I know I have already vented about this.. but I think I need to vent again... The daytime mets are always the ones who just automatically assume it's not coming here. The Chief mets always make sure it's not before saying so. {usually}
Everyone keeps talking about how the storm will magically turn because the high pressure ridge will weaken or a cold front will come and save our you know what's again..
This storm has Florida written all over it. I think if I'm a Florida resident, If I live anywhere from Jacksonville down to Miami, I watch this thing like a hawk till she turns away.. Cause it almost looks like her evil eye is pointed straight at us...
As we nervously wait.. I hope our coastal county and even our inland county EOC's are getting plans ready cause I have this icky feeling they may have to use them.

I'm on the Treasure Coast and feeling a bit better about her. The 120 hour now has her off Vero Beach (a 20 minute ride). I know this isn't set in stone but I have a feeling that as the week progresses, it's people in Northern Florida/Southern Georgia that will have to watch this one closely. I'm beginning to think I'm almost out of the woods now.

For some reason I'm not as fearful today as I was yesterday. I have no idea why. It could be because a lot of the talk yesterday was about FL and now we are hearing more talk of GA/Carolinas. Yesterday I was actually feeling sick when I found out it was a cat 5. It could also be I am in denial that anything like this could happen to us here.
I just hate the thought of anyone having to deal with this storm but it is looking more and more that someone will. I'm still keeping a very close eye on it.

Well guys this storm isn't coming to the Carolinas, so quit wishing it here!
We have instructed our local tourism board and hospitality Association to deny reservations at all of our hotels/motels to anyone named Isabel!
Seriously though, I am becoming more concerned as time goes by. Not panicked, just concerned.

I don't see how such a thing can be said when models did a totally reversal between Monday and Tuesday versus yesterday and today in a system over 1,000 miles from the southeast corner of the United States.
In addition, there was a recon. flight scheduled and dispatched to investigate the system until this afternoon to get more data and the always interesting GV-I NOAA Plane to get very important data from ahead of the storm.
