Then why is EWX predicting a high Wed of only 47. I am now used to the 70s and would like them to stay around?

Not-so-false spring. Trend continues warmer (well, less freezing cold) next week. Not even a freeze in Dallas. Of course, the meteograms are 2-meter raw temps. MOS guidance may be a bit lower. Wouldn't rule out highs in the mid to upper 40s across Texas next Wednesday (after a morning high in the 60s pre-frontal).

My oh my, this winter has acclimated wxman57 to cold. Below to well below normal averages and less than 60 is now considered spring . Before long he won't need heat and will be satisfied with cool temps :cheesy:

Still lots of below normal on the 6-10 day map.

Doesn't look very spring like IMO.

Well, that's not happening. Just did a 3-hr bike ride. The temperature was 71 and I froze my butt off.

I've got blooming plants now. Meteorological Spring is right around the corner. No doubt there's some more chilly weather on the way and I can see a freeze in rural and low lying areas around the metro and at the airport. However I'm beginning to feel more confident that at least at my place, it won't get below 32 degrees.

I'm still on my quest looking for rain clouds...

Thank you Porta, again I apologize for placing it in the wrong thread, when I found the video, it was really late and I was tired and I'm still learning the boards. But now if I find anything in that category, I'll be sure to post it there. :)

On my bike ride yesterday I saw a number of dogwood trees in full bloom. You can tell they're dogwoods by their bark.

Check out the 12z NAM if you havent north and nw TX. Canadian has been on and off too, and GFS just misses the precip with cold. Time it a little better and not too shabby. I have a lot on the table this weekend so I'll try to update once in awhile. I still believe the false spring idea.

MJO is up and running, very strong, fully expect a stormy period possibly of the season to come.

After driving to Lubbock this weekend and seeing just how dry things are from Austin to Lubbock (and it gets progressively worse the further into west Texas one goes) ... I'm hoping that active southern storm track materializes. This state needs rain ... copious amounts ... in the worst way. :(

Well then I have good news for you Porta. With the turn of the PDO (small scale) this year looks better and better for rain as a whole. Will probably be the wettest since 09 when it is done, and IF El Nino turns on we may be looking at drought recovery pending short term.

We still have to endure a drier spring however as cooler than average persists as well as cool gulf while ENSO tries to turn on.

12Z GFS is in. Nothing too extreme next 2 weeks. Perhaps some heavy rain in early March - over 2" in both Dallas-Ft. Worth and Houston indicated by 12Z GFS. 00Z Euro ensembles mean didn't have any freezing temps in NE TX next week. Deterministic was colder at 26-28F in Dallas.

wxman57 or those that have access to the ECMWF precipitation products - does the ECMWF show a 1 - 2" rain event next weekend? While the GFS has been very inconsistent on the depth of cold air, it is very consistent on dumping a lot of rain on us. Does the ECMWF match this?

Nope, nothing in the 12Z EC for next weekend. Shows heavy rain for east and SE TX days 9-10.
