Good analysis... even if it is a "minority report." I am just a long-term lurker at other boards (recently joined this one) but I believe from how other strong weather systems have interacted with their environment in the past that the concept of a large hurricane rebuilding a ridge... like a steel ball sinking/sliding on a sheet of rubber latex and creating its own path... is plausible.
