Degree of uncertainty

#1 Postby Rainband » Fri Sep 12, 2003 5:54 pm

After reading the posts on this board and some others and watching the reports on TV..I have come to this conclusion. While it is entertaining to GUESS and FORECAST where Isabel is heading..The only truthful answer is this..GIVEN THE DIVERGENCE OF THE MODELS AT 120
HR...IT IS STILL TOO EARLY TO SPECULATE WHICH PARTS...IF ANY...OF
EASTERN COAST OF THE UNITED STATES MAY GET AFFECTED BY ISABEL.

The NHC said on ABC news that the models diverge after the five day.."There is no way to tell where she is going" The plot showed as far west as the west coast of florida..south to north of cuba..north to the NE...

I realize we are all tropical weather nuts   But making staements like "It won't go there" or it's coming here..Are premature and a guess at best. I hope these comments don't offend anyone. I love reading the forecasts and discusions. I just don't want anyone reading posts on this board to let their guard down..because of a post made by one of our members... Bottom line..Way too early to know with any certainty where in the CONUS Isabel will strike or if she even will at all. Thanks for your time..Enjoy and post on!!!

Sincerely
Johnathan
