We must be dry slotted here right next to DFW airport-bone dry not a drop or pellet of anything. Not even moisture on the pavement in my part of Grapevine.

if the cap gets shattered like the last 3-4 rap runs suggest it could get very ugly in the metroplex and even worse east of there.

I'm just not sure if I believe it yet. I do believe it's a possibility, which has me worried because none of the local mets seem to talking about it.

On radar, strong returns in Sulphur Springs/Hopkins County - maybe thundersleet?

Yeah, this is becoming warning criteria. Secondary roads are starting to freeze in Tarrant County with the worst to come later this afternoon

My temp just dropped from 39 to 37, and the weather service keeps mentioning the temps are dropping faster behind the front. If we keep dropping and moisture hasn't moved out, well just speculating.

Think its a foregone conclusion the cap is breaking, convection trying to fire SW of the immediate metroplex and east/south.

Yeah, I am beginning to change my mind on this storm. Looking like it means business. Could be similar to that sleet storm we had back in 2003? I forget the exact year, but that was the heaviest sleet I've ever seen.

Yep. Late Feb 2003. That was a doozy. Drove from Irving to south Fort Worth after the sleet fell. Not fun.
