But it's going to be cold on Wed/Thu even into Friday. From 90's-100's to 30-40 degrees cooler. My word.

Last night, softball(4.5") sized hail was reported in Atlanta, Texas. Atlanta is about 20 miles SW of Texarkana. Texarkana received only marble sized hail from the same storm.

Had a high of 105 today, by Wednesday we should have highs in the mid to upper 80s.

My humidity measured as low as 12% at 5:05pm today. That is UNHEARD OF this time of year, or ANY TIME OF YEAR HERE.

It is still 29% at 10:21pm according to my weather station. My yard has cracks developing, and I HAVE been watering once a week.

Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi & Alabama MIGHT see PDS tornado watches.

Well, pretty much nailed that one. Horrible events in Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. Thoughts and prayers out to all of those affected. And it's not over yet - Eastern Mississippi and Alabama are the hot spots today.

I have a good friend in Clinton, MS. At one point late yesterday she had a tornado on the ground several miles to the north of her house while at the same time another one on the ground about 10-12 miles south of her. Insane! Here's hoping for quick and meaningful recovery for those communities devastated by the storms.

Ditto! They have been on their toes out there these past couple days! I don't wish that kind of weather on anyone.

You know it's pretty dry when they mention a dust cloud moving in.

The last few days have been horrifically tragic in Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, etc. I was very thankful today turned out to be a forecast dud after the past few days.

I watched Sunday evening and yesterday unfold with the mixture of fascination and horror that I always feel in these big ticket events. Fascination at the weather - especially the science of tornadoes and severe weather events - and the pure horror of watching people's lives get ended or shattered.

Being off work right now, during this outbreak, I watched hours of TV on The Weather Channel. I know not everybody here is a fan of TWC. But in general, I am.

And the last three days were something else on TWC in my opinion. Especially yesterday evening as Mississippi and Alabama were getting shredded. Jim Cantore and Dr. Greg Forbes worked for hours and hours on end as every single storm seemed to be throwing out a twister with a debris ball. And when the storms got near Birmingham, the great James Spann of Birmingham proved yet again that he is as good as anybody out there - he is a living legend.

I couldn't quit watching last night as that tornadic supercell roared from near Tuscaloosa up to the outskirts of Birmingham. It was cycling every 5-10 minutes. If it hadn't rained itself out, Birmingham might have been in real trouble. Somebody - Dr. Forbes, Spann, somebody - needs to do a paper on that storm.

Noah's Ark kind of rain event going on in the Mobile-Gulf Shores-Pensacola area.

Catastrophic flooding with 10+ inches commonplace (saw one report of more than 15-inches).

And the storms keep regenerating and training, now hours on end.

Another crazy windy day here in Yuma. The humidity at 10:20 PM was 7%. I've never seen humidity that low at night ever. Crazy.

:uarrow:
I have a couple friends who live in Destin, Florida. Now I know where all of our water is going! I told them to be safe.

Quote from this friend of mine's FB post about an hour ago as of this S2K post:

"Hang in there my FL peeps, we're almost at the tail-end of this massive storm. Power's out again and everything's shutdown due to flooding."
