It's been a long time since we've last seen a Cat.5 in the EPac. Let's see what it's got.
Gonna need that circle of gray around the eye to connect.

Very interesting EPAC 'cane... I have this feeling we're gonna see more systems like Amanda in this basin...

I doubt it'll reach Cat 5. But hey, at one point, I doubted it would become a major.

Stronger than any WPac system so far. I guess this has a good chance of intensifying and becoming the strongest ePac may storm on record, surpassing Hurricane Adolph.
Conditions are becoming even MORE FAVORABLE, especially for Amanda's very slow movement. There has been a continuous and quite significant warming south and west of Baja California which has been one of the key reasons why Amanda was able to intensify so rapidly at a usually quite inactive month. I guess this could intensify to high-cat 4 strength the most at 250 km/h.

Re: EPAC: AMANDA - Hurricane
Amanda's arguably the second fastest I've seen a storm deepen. After Jimena 09. It even rivals Rick 09, Celia 10, and Felicia 09's EI. WOW. This is shocking for May 24!!! That's the most impressive thing. I'd be shocking anytime of year, but given how early it is and how El Ninos tend to be late activity starters, it's sweeter IMO.
Regarding all the activity on the forum, yea, the EPAC thus far has been getting tons of attention on Storm2k.

JTWC Advisory only puts this at 85 knts. Not that the JTWC is much of a factor in the EPAC.
