A list here has been redacted to save space

Actually I think that list has a few errors, Arthur '96 had 1004 mbar pressures as a TS, and Fay is 2008 not 2009.

Best Track still keeps it a tropical storm. Maybe we might not see any upgrade at 11 PM.

Well I remember Arthur '96 being rather disorganized (it had an exposed center) and I knew Fay for sure was in 2008. The list was a copy-paste though of a list someone else posted on Storm2k.

Funny cause The Weather Channel keeps mentioning the POSSIBILITY of a Special Advisory for a upgrade to Hurricane. Though it's probably just them talking.

I'm a bit skeptical of this sort of thing from a media outlet, most of what they put out anymore is just "stay tuned and keep giving us ratings" ploys.

I miss the old weather channel, it was almost all weather forecast and not some stupid mining show.

Saved WV loop showing the front passing through Ohio/Kentucky/Tennessee making good progress eastward. 500MB winds are in the process of veering to a SW-to-NE flow across the SE United States. Arthur should be making the much anticipated turn soon.

Dry air appears to be expanding again, is this a diurnal cycle?

That's the difference between the NHC and TWC - government forecasters are not told by a control room producer what to say for the sake of a rating point...

I have DirecTV, a few months ago they took out TWC and put in Weather Nation, pretty nice, all weather 24 hrs, but after a while I actually started missing TWC for some reason, lol. But now they put back TWC and they kept Weather Nation on the line up, so now I feel I have the best of both worlds, the one night a week I may turn both on, lol.

The lowest pressure measured by aircraft was 982.8mb yet the vortex says 988...that seems like an awfully large discrepancy doesn't it. It also looks like the dropsonde missed slightly.

I preferred the 2003-2005 Era of TWC, a.k.a. the ("Live By It" Era). Of course it seems with TV all good things must change eventually.

I believe the 982.8 was an extrapolation and 988mb is what was actually measured.
