No to take away from the destruction Arthur will cause, but can anyone link any observations to support cat 2?

Given 100 mph winds and a movement of 18 mph, the winds might be sustained as low as 82mph directly opposite of the right quadrant which is over water. Now the 100mph winds might be a single spot in the storm, so the odds of something picking that up, unlikely even if this was all over land. Of course in reality, the NHC makes their best educated guess. There might not technically be 100mph sustained winds, but they can't ever wait for something to pick that up, they have to go with what the tools they have.

There's not that many reporting stations to begin with, and some already lost power.

The eye has just passed Morehead City. WInds are just picking back up from the NW. Was relatively calm for about 20 minutes. Lowest pressure on my machine was 28.98. Rising again now, at 29.01 Highest gust on the front side was in the 60's but I am away from the water and my anemometer was partially blocked. Cape Lookout reported a gust of 83 mph earlier.
