Metro Manila got flooded by rains last night due to the thunderstorm. Same thing happened near Cabanatuan, but was accompanied by strong winds and it occurred in daytime. The rest of the country is currently in a dry state.

So far very dry and hot in the Philippines, especially in parts of Luzon. Manila, so far, recorded an estimated 37ºC and is the highest temperature in the Metro for this year.
The hottest recorded temperature as of May 23, in the country, was recorded somewhere Isabela province, which had recorded a whopping 40ºC.
Temperatures may even rise as the El Niño consolidates and gets declared by next month. I feel really bad for those who have agricultural businesses and jobs, as they are the ones worst affected by the El Niño drought. This year's El Niño ks expected to be much stronger than the 2009-10 El niño. SOME major dams are below the critical level as of now, even a month before the possible declaration of the El Niño, as other events had their crashes by the middle or during the peak of the El Niño. This may lead to possible Water and Power outages in the Metro Manila area and other parts close to it known as Greater Manila.

MANILA, Philippines : It's official: summer is over. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday declared the onset of the rainy season with a new tropical cyclone and the southwest monsoon or Habagat affecting various parts of the country.PAGASA acting administrator Vicente Malano said during the next two months, near to above normal rainfall conditions are expected in most parts of the country, though monsoon breaks may happen and last for several days."The prevailing synoptic conditions over the country are now characterized by southwesterly windflow, high humidity, and occurrence of daily rainshowers and thunderstorms. This development signifies the onset of the rainy season over the western section of the country," Malano said in a statement. In a weather advisory issued at 11 a.m., PAGASA said the Habagat will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains over the Ilocos Region and over the provinces of Bataan and Zambales. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
