The GFS model has been persistently forecasting a major cool down for the south, with Atlanta forecasted temps 15 or 16 degrees below average. Also check out the extent of the cool air.

For example Charleston, WV forecasted low 44 degrees, average 66. If this forecast comes into fruition it will decimate the old record of 53 degrees. What does everyone think of this? Will it happen? Meteorologically, what is causing this and does this foreshadow the fall/winter pattern?
