The NHC had no choice but to write advisories for that mess, but you can bet it almost wasn't worth the poor mid shift forecaster having to stay up all night to write them...
It never really was a viable system until yesterday, when it became a hurricane for a few short hours - considering how busy the EPAC has been and how quiet it's been on this side (with the exception of rare-breed Arthur and the current mess), I'll guess that El Nino is here...

Re: ATL: BERTHA - Tropical Storm - Discussion
Looks like Bertha is steadily losing tropical characteristics today. The frontal low to its southwest looks more impressive.

That's a quite normal path, Bertha is becoming extratropical and heading to europe as a normal frontal low. Every year some ex-storms have influence on the weather here in europe.

Bye, Bertha. I cannot distinguish a center separate from the cold front.

The remnants of Bertha are currently moving over Central Europe as an extratropical cyclone. The cold front brought chilly temperatures in the 50s, over an inch of rain in some places, thunderstorms and gusty winds of up to 60 mph to Germany and adjacent countries. After being stuck in the warm, humid sectors of some low pressure areas for the last days (with dewpoints >70) it feels really nice to go out and enjoy the cool breeze.
